Ms. Collier is currently in her 13th year of teaching. She has taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. It’s hard for her to pick a favorite grade, as she has enjoyed teaching at each level and whichever grade she is currently teaching usually becomes her new favorite grade to teach.
After growing up in Portland, Oregon, Ms. Collier moved to Southern California to attend Azusa Pacific University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, a Master of Arts degree in Education, and her teaching credential. She then went on to earn an Administrative Services credential from California State University, San Bernardino. During her time with Palm Springs Unified, she has taken many trainings to further her teaching knowledge, including becoming qualified to teach in Gifted and Talented Education (GATE).
In her limited free time, Ms. Collier enjoys reading and keeping up with the latest pick from her monthly book club, spending time with her friends while exploring new places around the Coachella Valley, being involved in her church, and traveling to see her 2 young nieces that live in Portland.

Ms. Hoelscher has been teaching for 14 years. She has taught 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and now 5th grade for Palm Springs Unified School District. In addition to teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grade multiple subjects, she taught 7th grade math, Algebra, PE, and middle school computer science.

Mrs. Perkins has been teaching for 19 years. With the exception of one year teaching 3rd grade, she has taught 5th grade for the other 18 years. She believes her love of teaching comes from her family where multiple generations of family members have also been educators. Mrs. Perkins has known since her own 5th grade school year, that she wanted to be a 5th grade teacher.
Mrs. Perkins earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. After meeting her husband in college, she and her husband moved to the Coachella Valley where she began her teaching career and he began his music career. During her time with Palm Springs Unified School District, Mrs. Perkins has earned her Master of Arts in Middle Grades Education from California State University, San Bernardino. She also is qualified to teach Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) and is continuously attending trainings to expand her skills and strategies to teach to all children.
Mrs. Perkins has been honored to have been the 2002-2003 Julius Corsini Elementary School Teacher of the Year Recipient, the Soroptimist International of Desert Hot Springs Teacher of the Year Recipient, and the Palm Springs Unified School District Employee of the Month Recipient in 2010.
When she isn’t focusing on schoolwork, Mrs. Perkins is promoting her husband’s music business and career and attending his performances. She is also attending her eldest daughter’s national club volleyball tournaments and her youngest daughter’s softball activities. When Mrs. Perkins has time for herself, she enjoys playing tennis both recreationally and competitively.
